Zion National Park 1980 USGS Map
USGS Topographic Map of Zion National Park in Utah from 1980 (Reproduction). It is a quadrant map which shows an area of land and includes a portion of the park.
Zion National Park is located in southwestern Utah and was established in 1919. The Virgin River cut through the Navajo Sandstone rock to create the Zion Canyon. It is known for its amazing canyoneering, a sport in which people work their ways down narrow slot canyons by downclimbing, repelling, and scrambling. One of the park's more famous and impressive features is the "Narrows" a hike up the Virgin River with sandstone walls on either side of it up to 2000 feet tall. And of course, not to be missed is the Angel's Landing hike where you can work you way up to the top of one of the canyons huge monoliths.
