West Virginia Hydrological Map

Water is literally the lifeblood of any state. If you’re drawn to water, you know that how and where it flows tells the story of a place. Our West Virginia Hydrological Map shows in fascinating detail how the state’s rivers and streams flow and interconnect, merge and diverge, carrying life to the land. The flow of water also has an inherent aesthetic elegance that our map captures beautifully.

It’s all in the details. Our map depicts every river in the state—even intermittent streams—and every body of water with a diameter greater than .2 miles. For an extra aesthetic touch, we apply a method called the Strahler Stream Order to show the hierarchy of streams as they flow from their source—rivers are shown thicker as they acquire the flow of tributaries. We think it enhances a sense of the interconnectedness of our waterways.

In our Hydrology Series, you’ll not only find your favorite rivers and lakes, but you’ll also be able to trace their origins and outflow and appreciate the beauty of their connections.

We consider our maps to be works of art, so we print and frame them accordingly. We offer two choices of print surfaces: fine-art archival paper and stretched canvas.

Every map is custom printed. We have no inventory. Only when we receive your order do we produce your print on our 12-color giclée printer, using top-quality archival inks that will never fade.

Fine Art Paper (Does not include frame)-Our archival paper is museum-quality, 100% cotton, acid-free, and certified to last 100 years. This assures sharp details, true colors, and exceptional durability. Order your maps on archival paper if you intend to frame them.

Frame-Add a thin wood frame to your order and your Fine Art Paper print will come mounted.Click here to order

Canvas Gallery Wrap-If you prefer a frameless look, order your map on stretched canvas, which offers a bit more depth and texture. We use archival canvas, gallery-wrapped and varnished, stretched onto a 1.5-inch-thick wood frame.

    Wild and wonderful gift

I gave this to my husband who grew up in WV and spend a lot of time paddling the rivers there, as a first year anniversary gift. He loves it! It's a wonderful conversation piece and great print quality on great paper. Thanks so much!

    Great Father’s Day Gift

I got the Tennessee Hydrological Map for my dad who is an avid fly fisherman, so he pays attention to the waterways, and he loved it. The map looked great in person. I would highly recommend.

    Fantastic Father’s Day gift!

My experience with Muir Way was seamless start to finish, and I received an incredible map of my home state. My father and I share a lot of memories on the waters of our state, so it was an excellent and meaningful Father’s Day gift. The map is a perfect size and high quality.

    Great Gift

I ordered one of the Hydrology Maps for Texas for my dad for fathers day. He loved it. He has worked on rivers and streams for his entire career as a marine biologist. So he really appreciate the accuracy and beauty of this print. The quality of the paper and ink terrific and will look great once framed and hung on the wall.

    Gorgeous and eye-catching

I just bought a cabin tucked away in the heart of Silicon Valley. This hydrological map was the perfect item to pull together my new home in a way that reflects both my love for nature and my career as a geochemist in the beautiful state of California.
