Sea Lamprey and Alaska Brook Lamprey

140

Originally published in the 1884 edition of the "The Fisheries and Fishery Industries of the United States", this reproduction print of the Sea Lamprey and Alaska Brook Lamprey was drawn by H.L. Todd. It was part of the first book in a multi-volume series produced by George Brown Goode, the famed ichthyologist (fish scientist), Smithsonian museum administrator, and U.S. Fish Commissioner. He managed a large staff of scientists, researchers, and clerical employees to produce this monumental work on American Fisheries.  We are happy to make available the amazingly detailed drawings included in the first volume of the series as reproduction prints.

Reproduction Print - A Fine Art Paper print from a high-resolution scan of the original print. It is an exact replica, with all the character and detail, but on our heavyweight archival paper and inks.

Size - 8.5 x 11 inches (no additional border)

    Wow!

These printings are absolutely perfect. The paper ist thick but not too heavy with a fine matt „bütten" surface. The printing itself is so filigree, it looks like an original ink drawing. All in all the fish looks kind of 3 dimensional and staring at you. Very very nice work! To customers from Germany: Shipping costs are 40$ and you may have to pick your items from your local duty office and pay 19% VAT of the total sum.

    Neat!

This print is a really neat piece. We love cephalopods so it was right up our alley.
