Originally published in the 1884 edition of the "The Fisheries and Fishery Industries of the United States", this reproduction print of the Pensacola Black Grouper was drawn by H.L. Todd. It was part of the first book in a multi-volume series produced by George Brown Goode, the famed ichthyologist (fish scientist), Smithsonian museum administrator, and U.S. Fish Commissioner. He managed a large staff of scientists, researchers, and clerical employees to produce this monumental work on American Fisheries.  We are happy to make available the amazingly detailed drawings included in the first volume of the series as reproduction prints.

Beautiful piece of art

I had a great experience buying from Muir Way! The checkout process was easy and even received a 10% off coupon to complete my purchase which pushed me over the edge to buy. The shipping came quickly and it was in a flat package marked “fragile.” Overall, extremely happy with my purchase and I’m sure my stepdad will love his Christmas gift!

Unique and Beautiful

I bought this print as a gift (I haven't given it to the recipient yet, but I'm sure he will love it!). It is such a unique and storied drawing, with amazing details and fun story behind it. I love that I was able to pick which fish I wanted, as it's a particularly beloved species to the person bought it for. Just as other things I've purchased from Muir Way, it came well packaged and with a couple of great stickers to boot. I've ordered several things from Muir Way over the years and will continue to do so. They have all been beautiful and uncommon - things I certainly wouldn't find anywhere else, and have a way of feeling very personalized.
