Mammoth, California-TOPO Series Map
Mammoth Mountain opened in 1953 in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. Its peak elevation is over 11,000 feet giving it 3,100 feet of vertical and 3,500 acres of skiable terrain. Besides it's great natural chutes and steeps, it has world famous terrain parks with a Mini-Pipe, Super-Pipe and Super-Dude Pipe making it the only resort in the US with 3 pipes.
TOPO Series Maps:
Our maps show elevation changes in the landscape through contour lines. Each line represents a particular elevation, so you can determine the degree of slope by how close the lines are to one another (very close lines indicate a steep slope area). The dot on the map represents the base of the ski area. The elevation climbs away from the dot and shows the shape of the ski area from above, as well as the surrounding areas. The elevation and geographic coordinates indicated at the bottom of the map refer to the base of the ski area. The interval distance represents the elevation change between each line.
The maps are based off of US Geological Survey topographic maps which were created in quadrant sections. In other words, the USGS created maps that can be pieced together like a mosaic to create the entire US. Our maps use up to 4 quadrants to form a map of the ski mountain area. If there is a vertical and/or horizontal line on our map, they show where two or more quadrants meet.
We print all of our designs ourselves on the highest quality materials made in the USA. We use an award winning Canon ipf8300 printer with their 12 color inkset to get the most vibrant colors that will last a lifetime.

Great map, weird size.
Got this map as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. The map is beautiful. Colors are to true to photo. The matte texture is almost like a fabric and looks very nice both on it's own and under glass. The only problem was that the final size of the poster is not the size mentioned on the site. The print area of the map itself is as described, but there are a few extra inches of white space on all sides, and not evenly so - the amount on top and bottom was different than that of the sides. This made it impossible to frame as is. The full size with the white space is not a standard frame size, and I was not about to cut it down to the actual map size myself (which is also a difficult yet not impossible frame size to find). Muir Way sells it with a very expensive frame as well - and if you are in love with this map you should probably just buy it that way. Since I needed this in time to be gifted, I ended up having to get it custom framed (they evened out the white space with matting), which made this $50 map poster turn in to incredibly expensive (albeit, cool looking) art piece that was $200+.
I absolutely love my purchase, I actually just got it in the mail this morning and it was super fast getting to me! I love that you have the feature where after you purchase it, you can make adjustments to it just Incase you messed up on something. That really comes in handy. Thanks again, my boyfriend and I love it, it marks our very first date :)
