Kentucky Hydrological Map

Kentucky Hydrological Map

Water is literally the lifeblood of any state. If you’re drawn to water, you know that how and where it flows tells the story of a place. Our Kentucky Hydrological Map shows in fascinating detail how the state’s rivers and streams flow and interconnect, merge and diverge, carrying life to the land. The flow of water also has an inherent aesthetic elegance that our map captures beautifully.

It’s all in the details. Our map depicts every river in the state—even intermittent streams—and every body of water with a diameter greater than .2 miles. For an extra aesthetic touch, we apply a method called the Strahler Stream Order to show the hierarchy of streams as they flow from their source—rivers are shown thicker as they acquire the flow of tributaries. We think it enhances a sense of the interconnectedness of our waterways.

In our Hydrology Series, you’ll not only find your favorite rivers and lakes, but you’ll also be able to trace their origins and outflow and appreciate the beauty of their connections.

We consider our maps to be works of art, so we print and frame them accordingly. We offer two choices of print surfaces: fine-art archival paper and stretched canvas.

Every map is custom printed. We have no inventory. Only when we receive your order do we produce your print on our 12-color giclée printer, using top-quality archival inks that will never fade.

Fine Art Paper (Does not include frame)-Our archival paper is museum-quality, 100% cotton, acid-free, and certified to last 100 years. This assures sharp details, true colors, and exceptional durability. Order your maps on archival paper if you intend to frame them.

Frame-Add a thin wood frame to your order and your Fine Art Paper print will come mounted.Click here to order

Canvas Gallery Wrap-If you prefer a frameless look, order your map on stretched canvas, which offers a bit more depth and texture. We use archival canvas, gallery-wrapped and varnished, stretched onto a 1.5-inch-thick wood frame.

    The Best Anniversary Present

My wife is a hydrologist and we'll soon be leaving New York State, where we've both lived all our lives. Recently we celebrated our first anniversary and I gave her this poster. She cried, laughed, all the good stuff. Job well done!

    Cool Map

I am a water lawyer in Nebraska, so anything hydrological pertaining to Nebraska attracts my attention. This map is both instructive to the extent of Nebraska's surface water resources and it serves as an excellent piece of artwork.

    Illinois Map

I opened up my print for the first time at a frame store, and it looked better than I had imagined. The woman helping me that day was impressed with the print as well and asked me about it. This is a gift for my boyfriend and I know he’s going to love it.

Purchased a Hydrological map of Texas for my wife for our anniversary. She absolutely loved it! Great selection. Shipping was quick. It was very well packed in a tube. I'll definitely be buying more soon.
