Our Indiana State Hydrological Map shows every river, stream, lake, and wetland, both intermittent and perennial, within the state's borders. Lakes and wetlands are shown true to shape but rivers and streams are delineated by their Strahler Stream Order. This method uses the hierarchy of streams from their source downstream to determine the width of the line representing the waterway. In other words, streams with no tributaries are the thinnest and get thicker as they connect downstream.
