Description

We love old maps. Their coloration, typography, legends, notations, and sometimes even outdated place names all have a nostalgic quality that gives them a special beauty. If you share our love for vintage maps, you’ll appreciate this 1876 Green River Basin map in our Historic Series.

This reproduction print of the 1876 Green River Basin map was originally two pages that have been combined into one map. It was one part of a series of maps that made up the Geological Exploration of the Fortieth Parallel. The Geologist in charge of this work was Clarence King and was originally published by Julius Bien. The series of maps show a continuous belt of mountains and plateaus from 104 degrees longitude to 120 degrees, and 170 miles north to south.

Great Quality and Service

My original order was damaged by UPS and wasn't delivered. It was easy to get in touch with Muir Way customer service and they quickly shipped out another order. Their response time was quick and the overall experience was great. The map itself is beautiful and I was really impressed with the paper quality. It feels and looks great! I bought this map along with the 1876 Rocky Mountains Geological Map, and I can't wait to hang them up together on my wall.

Unique and Timeless

We were looking for a piece which would compliment a complex room with many textures and colors and which would also bring a sense of history of the area. This map was exactly perfect - vivid colors and superior paper quality. We have recommended Muir Way to other designer friends and will be back for more ideas.
