Grayling

Originally published in the 1884 edition of the "The Fisheries and Fishery Industries of the United States", this reproduction print of the Grayling was drawn by H.L. Todd. It was part of the first book in a multi-volume series produced by George Brown Goode, the famed ichthyologist (fish scientist), Smithsonian museum administrator, and U.S. Fish Commissioner. He managed a large staff of scientists, researchers, and clerical employees to produce this monumental work on American Fisheries.  We are happy to make available the amazingly detailed drawings included in the first volume of the series as reproduction prints.

Great vintage drawing; wish it was a bit larger

The item is a print of a vintage drawing. It is for my son who fly fished for trout on the Au Sable River this year. His aunt and uncle who live in the river talked about the efforts to re-introduce the Grayling trout to the river. This print references that the original drawing was done at the Au Sable River, so it is perfect in that regard. Just wish it was more like an 11x17 inch print.

Love it!

Such a cool little piece that will look understated and fun wherever it ends up in the house.
