We love old maps. Their coloration, typography, legends, notations, and sometimes even outdated place names all have a nostalgic quality that gives them a special beauty. If you share our love for vintage maps, you’ll appreciate this 1926 Grand Canyon National Park USGS Map in our Historic Series. In remastering maps for this series, we go to great pains to clean them up, eliminating stains, stamps, handwriting, and other signs of map aging. We then rework them into easily framable sizes and bring out the richness of their colors and details. Because we print them on fine archival paper and canvas, all their original beauty shines through. Browse our extensive collection of parks, cities, states, and more. It’s like traveling in a cartographic time machine.
We consider our maps to be works of art, so we print and frame them accordingly. We offer two choices of print surfaces: fine-art archival paper and stretched canvas.
Every map is custom printed. We have no inventory. Only when we receive your order do we produce your print on our 12-color giclée printer, using top-quality archival inks that will never fade.
Fine Art Paper-Our archival paper is museum-quality, 100% cotton, acid-free, and certified to last 100 years. This assures sharp details, true colors, and exceptional durability.
Canvas Gallery Wrap-If you prefer a frameless look, order your map on stretched canvas, which offers a bit more depth and texture. We use archival canvas, gallery-wrapped and varnished, stretched onto a 1.5-inch-thick wood frame.
I bought a map of Baltimore and a hydrological map of MD for my partners birthday and they were a huge hit! He spent a long time checking out areas we are familiar with around Baltimore. The quality of the maps are awesome. The paper is thick and the printing is precise and vibrant. Additionally, these maps came as promised and were packaged carefully. I would definitely recommend buying!
Our son is moving and we wanted to gift him with a handsomely framed map of San Diego before he moves. The great customer service at Muir Way let us know our order could be a bit delayed due to Covid 19. They promptly sent me an email assuring me he would get it very soon & he did. My son said the map & the frame are high quality and he loves it. This will look great in his wall in Ft Collins, Colorado. Thanks Muir Way!
This map was a gift to a family member who has visited Yosemite several times. We thought the quality was outstanding. The colors and feel take you back, to a time before impressive but impersonal digital maps.
Purchased this framed for a son completing his graduate studies at UT Austin. Thought it would be a nice keepsake for future years. It provides an interesting contrast between small-town Austin, which no longer exists, and the enduring land forms.
