Description
Our Montana 1897 Shaded Relief Map, printed XL on gallery-wrapped canvas and sized to anchor a big wall.
Every Vintage Shaded Relief map starts with a high-resolution scan of a single original 1897 map, which we digitize and georeference before adding modern hillshading from digital elevation data. The result is an original Muir Way design with a striking, 3D-like sense of depth.
Two ways to hang it
- Canvas Gallery Wrap – 48x32 in. Gallery-wrapped canvas with a 1.5" depth, foam-board support, and a clean black paper backing. Comes with hanging wire installed, ready to hang.
- Framed Canvas – 48x32 in overall. A 46"x30" canvas set in a 1.88" deep frame that adds 1" on each side. Finished with foam-board backing and hanging wire installed, ready to hang.

What is a Canvas Gallery Wrap?
A gallery wrap is a canvas print stretched over solid wood bars, with the canvas wrapping around the edges for a clean, finished look. Its 1.5" deep profile adds dimension to your map and looks complete without an outer frame.
Archival-Quality Canvas
Our thick, 360gsm polycotton canvas has a subtle semi-gloss finish that brings out rich colors and fine detail. The acid-free, pH-neutral material helps resist yellowing over time.
Rich Color & Sharp Detail
We use professional giclée printing with archival-quality inks. Regular color calibration and quality checks help ensure consistent, accurate color and crisp detail in every print.
Solid Wood & Added Support
Each canvas is stretched over solid wood bars, with a foam-board underlayer supporting the entire canvas surface for added rigidity.
Ready to Hang
The back is finished with black paper, and hanging wire comes installed—ready to display as soon as it arrives.
Optional Floating Frame
Choose a floating frame for a more defined finish. A narrow gap between the canvas and frame creates the appearance that your map is floating inside it.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, wipe gently with a lightly damp cloth. Avoid direct sunlight, humid areas, harsh cleaners, and abrasive materials.
