Hydrological Map of Canada

Hydrological Map of Canada

First Edition of 250 Hand-Numbered Maps

Water is literally the lifeblood of any country. If you’re drawn to water, you know that how and where it flows tells the story of a place. Our Canada Hydrological Map shows in fascinating detail how the country’s rivers and streams flow and interconnect, merge and diverge, carrying life to the land. The flow of water also has an inherent aesthetic elegance that our map captures beautifully.

It’s all in the details. Our map depicts every river in the country—even intermittent streams—and every body of water with a diameter greater than 6 miles. For an extra aesthetic touch, we apply a method called the Strahler Stream Order to show the hierarchy of streams as they flow from their source—rivers are shown thicker as they acquire the flow of tributaries. We think it enhances a sense of the interconnectedness of our waterways.

In our Hydrology Series, you’ll not only find your favorite rivers and lakes, but you’ll also be able to trace their origins and outflow and appreciate the beauty of their connections.

We consider our maps to be works of art, so we print and frame them accordingly. We offer two choices of print surfaces: fine-art archival paper and stretched canvas.

Every map is custom printed. We have no inventory. Only when we receive your order do we produce your print on our 12-color giclée printer, using top-quality archival inks that will never fade.

Fine Art Paper (Does not include frame)-Our archival paper is museum-quality, 100% cotton, acid-free, and certified to last 100 years. This assures sharp details, true colors, and exceptional durability. Order your maps on archival paper if you intend to frame them.

Frame-Add a thin wood frame to your order and your Fine Art Paper print will come mounted.Click here to order

Canvas Gallery Wrap-If you prefer a frameless look, order your map on stretched canvas, which offers a bit more depth and texture. We use archival canvas, gallery-wrapped and varnished, stretched onto a 1.5-inch-thick wood frame.

excellent map

Beautiful map, great addition to my classroom. Really puts Canada into perspective - no roads, borders or cities, just waterways.

Stunning, from start to finish

This map and my interactions with Muir Way have exceeded all expectations from start to finish. An elegantly designed website with rich and detailed information, an effortless order process and then the arrival of the map—beautifully packed and professionally printed (and I know good printing when I see it, as my mother is a graphic designer). I now know what to get for birthday presents for loved ones…more Muir Way maps!

Crisp Clear Hydrological Map

Very pleased with the quality of the print and the speed at which it got to me. Ordered it a few weeks before Christmas and it got to me in Canada well before the 25th. All of the lines in the print are very clear and there is no smudging or blurred edges. I was happy to see it was well packaged for shipping (the tube wasn’t too short) so there were no dents or creases in the print when it arrived. You get what you pay for with this print.

lovely map

This is a lovely map, a gift for my son, who is delighted with it. Company was great to work with; there were delivery problems, and they sent a second copy express so that it would be here for Christmas. Very prompt responses to emails from me.

Best. Gift. Ever.

Got this map as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend who is a Geographer and she absolutely loves it! The detail in this map is outstanding. You can literally get lost in it and spend hours looking at patterns and flows. I've ordered the 24x24 inch version and tried to custom frame it until I found out that frames are significantly more than the poster. So I bought a standard 24x32 inch frame with a black backdrop for it and I think it looks even better that way than in a square frame. Buying and shipping to Canada was a breeze and if you create some topographical maps of Banff or Kootenay national park I'll be a repeat customer.
