Molokai Island 1906 Map

1906 Map of Molokai Island

A beautifully restored map of Molokai Island from 1906.  This reproduction print was originally drafted in 1897 part of a series of maps done of the Hawaiian Islands by a team headed by W.D. Alexander and M.D. Monsarrat.  It was a color lithographed map with relief shown by contours, spot heights, and hachures. In 1906, it was printed by Andrew B. Graham Co., Lithographers within a Report of the Territory of Hawaii for the Secretary of the Interior.

We consider these maps to be works of art, so we print and frame them accordingly. We offer two choices of print surfaces: fine-art archival paper and stretched canvas. Fine art paper prints do not come framed unless you add a frame to your order.

Every map is custom printed. We have no inventory. Only when we receive your order do we produce your print on our 12-color giclée printer, using top-quality archival inks that will never fade.

Fine Art Paper - Our archival paper is museum-quality, 100% cotton, acid-free, and certified to last 100 years. This assures sharp details, true colors, and exceptional durability.

Frames (w/ Fine Art Paper) - Our thin hardwood frames are handmade from real Maple or Walnut, not pressed wood with veneer. Fine Art Paper prints will come mounted behind a clear acrylic, with mounting hardware attached to it. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your frame to arrive.

Canvas Gallery Wrap - If you prefer a frameless look, order your map on stretched canvas, which offers a bit more depth and texture. We use archival canvas, gallery-wrapped and varnished, stretched around a 1.5-inch-thick wood frame.
