1903 Map of Maui Island

A beautifully restored map of Kauai Island from 1903.  This reproduction print was part of a series of maps done of the Hawaiian Islands by John M. Donn with data from a team headed by W.D. Alexander and S.E. Bishop.  It was a color lithographed map with relief shown by contours, spot heights, and hachures.

    Far Exceeds Expectations

I am one of six sons of a father born on Maui in 1918. I never expected to find a contemporaneous map of the island, but there it was on the Muir Web site, along with a 1918 map of the Hawaiian Islands. I bought both for one of my brothers who is greatly interested in family history. He was overwhelmed to receive them. Ron is used to having only the best and was blown away by the detail and quality of the maps. Thank you for making them available--and thank you for allowing me to make my brother so happy.
