Description

We love old maps. Their coloration, typography, legends, notations, and sometimes even outdated place names all have a nostalgic quality that gives them a special beauty. If you share our love for vintage maps, you’ll appreciate this 1883 Arizona Map in our Historic Series.

This map was made by George Cram and originally published in Cram's Unrivaled Family Atlas of the World in 1883.

Arizona 1883 map

I lived in Tucson, AZ, from 1970-1978. Every time I return to AZ for a visit, I am amazed at how much things have changed. I bought this map to remind me how big Phoenix and Tucson used to be 140 years ago (not very!) and to see the other things that have changed or appeared since then. I have really enjoyed the map for these reasons, and also for its sturdy quality. Thank you so much!
