Glacier National Park Map
Brand Muir Way
Glacier National Park is located in Montana and straddles the border of Canada. On the other side of the boarder sits Waterton Lakes National Park and the two parks were combined to form the first International Peace Park. Established in 1910, Glacier totals over 1,000,000 acres and is known as the "Crown of the Continent Ecosystem". Most of the park's original wildlife still inhabits the park including grizzly bears, moose, mountain goat and more rarely seen species like the wolverine and lynx. The glaciers for which the park were named after haven't been so lucky due to climate change. Only 25 still remain of the over 150 which were active in the mid 19th century.
