South Dakota Hydrological Map

South Dakota Hydrological Map

Water is literally the lifeblood of any state. If you’re drawn to water, you know that how and where it flows tells the story of a place. Our South Dakota Hydrological Map shows in fascinating detail how the state’s rivers and streams flow and interconnect, merge and diverge, carrying life to the land. The flow of water also has an inherent aesthetic elegance that our map captures beautifully.

It’s all in the details. Our map depicts every river in the state—even intermittent streams—and every body of water with a diameter greater than .2 miles. For an extra aesthetic touch, we apply a method called the Strahler Stream Order to show the hierarchy of streams as they flow from their source—rivers are shown thicker as they acquire the flow of tributaries. We think it enhances a sense of the interconnectedness of our waterways.

In our Hydrology Series, you’ll not only find your favorite rivers and lakes, but you’ll also be able to trace their origins and outflow and appreciate the beauty of their connections.

We consider our maps to be works of art, so we print and frame them accordingly. We offer two choices of print surfaces: fine-art archival paper and stretched canvas.

Every map is custom printed. We have no inventory. Only when we receive your order do we produce your print on our 12-color giclée printer, using top-quality archival inks that will never fade.

Fine Art Paper (Does not include frame)-Our archival paper is museum-quality, 100% cotton, acid-free, and certified to last 100 years. This assures sharp details, true colors, and exceptional durability. Order your maps on archival paper if you intend to frame them.

Frame-Add a thin wood frame to your order and your Fine Art Paper print will come mounted.Click here to order

Canvas Gallery Wrap-If you prefer a frameless look, order your map on stretched canvas, which offers a bit more depth and texture. We use archival canvas, gallery-wrapped and varnished, stretched onto a 1.5-inch-thick wood frame.

My Amazing Map

As a lover of maps, and a long time admirer of these maps, I was very excited to see this in real life. Moving into a new home was a great excuse to splurge. I received my map quickly and it looks amazing. I can't wait to get this beauty framed up and in my new home. It looks like I'm going to have to order another sooner than I had planned. Living in the KC area I will need a MO map to compliment the KS map I purchased.

Texas Hydro Map

Outstanding print work on superior quality paper. The framed map will grace the office of son, a licensed land surveyor in the state of Texas. Thanks for bringing the physical story of the land to visual delight as art.

Beautiful art

I ordered a beautiful map of Wisconsin's waterways. It's gorgeous and looks exactly as it did on the internet.

Everything about this purchase was perfect. This was a gift for my brother who is graduating with a degree in environmental engineering. We could not have found a better gift. The quality and color are fantastic. I could not recommend this product more.
